Ferrari 250 GTO is a sports car manufactured by Ferrari from 1962 to 1964. 39 250 GTO Ferrari cars are produced from 1962 to 1964. The car designed by Giotto Bizzarrini and Sergio Scaglietti. Giotto Bizzarrini focused on top speed of the car. The body design of this car tested in Pisa University and testing with different designs.

Thought behind 250 GTO design

250 GTO is actually designed for the competition of sports car racing. In 1962 the designer of this car Giotto Bizzarrini and many other engineers were fired from company due to controversy with Enzo Ferrari. Then Mauro Forghieri was the 2nd person who works with Scaglietti Design Company for further development of 250 GTO body. 250 GTO engines, chassis parts proved in earlier racing car competitions. The chassis of this car were same as 250 GT SWB with a little difference in their design and less weight.

In 2004 sports car International nominated 250 GTO on top of the list of top racing cars. Motor trend rated 250 GTO on top of the list as greatest Ferrari car of all the time. Motor trend is an automobile magazine publishes by TEN: The Enthusiast Network in 1949, 67 years ago. Popular Mechanics rated this car the hottest car of all the time. Popular Mechanics is firstly issued by Hearst Company in January 11, 1902, 115 years ago.
